The Claymore Apartments in Farmington Hills, Michigan. Project included the change out of hot water heating. The old equipment consisted of a 10 year old cast iron boiler with 9 indirect hot water heaters. It was unreliable and had complicated piping and hot water delivery. It failed on a Saturday morning. Performance Engineering Group was selected because we could provide a quick plan to restore hot water to the building. A 1.2 million BTU water heater and 2 hot water storage tanks were installed. The owner is ecstatic – huge drop in gas use due to direct water heating versus the old indirect process. Hot water is abundant, reliable and a huge reduction in equipment to maintain.
